Bethesda Buys Fallout License — 2008
Bethesda Softworks purchased the Fallout license so that they could further the game beyond its current development. Pete Hines stated that the whole reason behind obtaining the license was for the intent of making it better. This was the first hint that Fallout 4 was going to be in development.

Erik Dellum was one of the main voice actors for Fallout 3. In 2013 he revealed that a Fallout 4 game would be right around the corner when he hinted on his Twitter account that his character, Three Dog, would be returning. He did pull back on his announcement in July stating that the game he was working on wasn’t being developed by Bethesda, making it seem like he wasn’t talking about Fallout 4 to try and cover up the spoiler.

There was a ZeniMax funded website that came about, which included a bunch of code and a timer that was thought to be related to a Fallout 4 announcement date. This was later proven to be a hoax and had no connection to Bethesda Softworks.
Fallout 4 Announcement Trailer — June 3, 2015
Early in June the Fallout 4 release trailer was revealed, being the first official announcement that the game was coming this year. Bethesda Softworks placed the video on their YouTube channel, which played eerie old fashioned music while showing off the day the bomb dropped. It offered hints as to some of the upcoming features such as the dog companion and much more.
Twitch Mistake — June 4th, 2015
Bethesda was practicing their announcement for Fallout 4 at E3, which happened to be accidentally live broadcasted on Twitch. This allowed players to get a bit of a heads up on many of the features that were going to be announced. It made it well known that Fallout 4 was going to be the centerpiece of Bethesda’s E3 conference.
E3 Fallout Announcement — June 12th, 2015
Bethesda held their first E3 conference, and it surely wasn’t a disappointment. Throughout the evening they went over many games that were being released, and then pretended to end the night without the Fallout 4 announcement as a small joke on the community. After the joke, Bethesda started their presentation by showing off the start of the game up to the point when the player jumps into the vault when the bomb drops. From there, they revealed many features such as weapon customization as well as a new crafting system. They also revealed the collector’s edition of the game which allows for players to obtain an awesome Pipboy device that can be used along with the new app. The game was announced to be released on November 10th, 2015.
QuakeCon Reveals More About Fallout 4 — July 24th, 2015
QuakeCon gave out more spoilers for the Fallout 4 community. We learned that there are going to be over a dozen available companions, Mr. Handy is capable of saying over 1,000 names, a few new character reveals from the game, dog commands, romancing companions, as well as the new leveling and perk system. There were a lot of follow-up features that added onto the announcement from E3.
GamesCom Reveals New Perks — August 14th, 2015
Bethesda revealed more about the perk system and announced that there were going to be over 270 perks available in the new leveling system. Originally, it was thought that there were only going to be 70 perks so this game as a big surprise. There was also some insight on character development that cleared up the fuzziness surrounding it.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Videos – September 10th, 2015
The fan still get stoked. Bethesda released the video series of S.P.E.C.I.A.L, an acronym of seven character stats; Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck.. The video presented in black-white cartoon style teaching the benefit of each character attribute. The video shows up in the sequence of S.P.E.C.I.A.L. The first video series, Strength, appeared in September 10, and the last one, Luck was posted in October 21.

PC Specs Released – October 8th, 2015
One month before the release, Bethesda has informed spec requirement for PC version. The file will require space for 28-35 GB. Pre-Download is Available – October 26, 2015
Bethesda tweeted that Fallout 4 is available to pre-download. Since the game’s file is quite heavy around 28-35 GB. Those who pre-order Fallout 4 can download the game few days before the release and can play it as soon as the time hits release date. The pre-down load is available for all platform; Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Early Copy and Leaked Gameplay – November 2, 2015
One week before the launch. Early copies have been distributed to the media, these were meant to be an advanced copies game journalism, but it turned out that leaked gameplay has been spread wildly on the internet. The pictures and videos that have been uploaded are what the world has never seen before. After the unexpected incident Matt Grandstaff, Global Community Lead of Bethesda, has asked everyone to keep it secret until the launch day.
Fallout 4 Release — November 10th, 2015
Fallout 4 is set to be released on November 10th, 2015. The game is on track to be released on time and is going to be one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year. Bethesda has already sold out of the special Pipboy edition of the game and has thousands of pre-sales already setup for when the game launches. Expect more features and information to be leaked as we get closer to the November release date of Fallout 4.
